This bed takes two European sized 6'6" mattress, normal UK mattresses will fit the beds but will leave a small gap. To avoid a gap why not purchase a 'Gap Filler'? A gap filler slots neatly in the space between the end of your mattress and the end of the bed. Mattress depth must not exceed 15cm on top bunk.
