The base features solid wooden slats for supreme mattress support and prolonged life. Additionally, this bed will also come with a side-opening ottoman base, powered by gas-pistons that allow the base to be lifted with ease. It creates a spacious storage area for linen, blankets, clothing or occasional pillows. This ottoman comes with a floating base for storage made from a light wood. To get the best out of your ottoman we recommend that light weights only be put onto this floor to avoid damage. In-line with these guidelines we highly recommend you purchase a Hard Floor Anti-Slip Kit with any bedframe purchased!! Please Note: A Hard Floor Anti-Slip Kit consists of small rubber and felt pads that need to be attached to the bottom of each bed leg – including centre support legs – to ensure there is no movement on hard floors (any floor that does not have a carpet/rug covering) leading to any damage of the purchased bedframe.
